10 ways to get more twitter followers

Twitter is the commanding social network for commerce. The more followers you have the more coverage you will gain from tweeting. Twittering is also a less gated manner of announcement. You can share information with users that you wouldn't normally send emails or Instant Messenger messages with, opening up your circle of contacts to an ever-growing society of on the same wave length people.

  1. Write attractive tweets. Add something to the conversation, this helps you get responses.
  2. Include a brief bio and portrait to your Twitter profile.
  3. Find people you know and follow them.
  4. Follow people of your industry and people who tweet about topics you care about.
  5. Just the once you’ve followed people, interrelate with them!
  6. Add prominent links to your Twitter on your website.
  7. Add a link to your Twitter in your email signature.
  8. Enclose a link to your Twitter in your email newsletters.
  9. Add your Twitter account on your business cards.
  10. Ask your employees, friends and family to follow you. They won't be very meaningful followers, but it can help you gain "real" followers.
Warning: Don't waste your valuable money for low-profile Twitter followers. People won't magically follow you (unless they're spammers). Use these 10 steps to make them want to follow you and your tweets with love.
